TPMS TOOLS FOR FORD VEHICLES

ATEQ TPMS workshop tools help garages and tire shops service their customers’ vehicles faster, better and more securely. ATEQ works closely with Ford on the production line, in dealerships and workshops. Our collaboration gives us access to the latest TPMS protocols as soon as new vehicles are brought to the market.

WHICH DEVICE SHOULD I USE FOR FORD TPMS SYSTEMS?

All ATEQ tools are compatible with Ford original sensors. Many devices also program universal aftermarket sensors to be fitted in Ford vehicles. Choose the ATEQ VT36 tool as an activation tool for Ford sensors. To reset the Ford TPMS ECU, an OBDII capable tool such as the ATEQ VT56 is recommended.

ATEQ VT56 TPMS TOOL for FORD
The ATEQ VT56 is the all-in-one comprehensive TPMS tool with coverage for all TPMS enabled vehicles in Europe, but also imported vehicles from America. It covers all Ford passenger vehicles, as well as all other TPMS equipped vehicles on the market. With its OBDII module and advanced features, the tool acts as a full diagnostic tool for all TPMS maintenance. It includes OBD relearn procedures for 99% of Ford passenger cars on the European market, all except Ford Mustang 5. Find out more about the ATEQ VT56 here.
ATEQ VT36 TPMS TOOL for FORD
ATEQ VT36 is a TPMS activation and programming tool with coverage for all Ford vehicles, and is Ford’s essential tool in Europe. Most Ford vehicles uses a standard manual procedure. Use the ATEQ VT36 TPMS tool to activate the Ford vehicle’s TPMS sensor during the Manual Relearn Procedure. Purchase the ATEQ VT36 tool from Ford’s Equipment Store.

REPLACING A TPMS SENSOR ON A FORD VEHICLE

When a Ford TPMS sensor is broken, or does not respond anymore, it is time to replace it. Go to the Part Number Lookup menu in the ATEQ TPMS tool menu, to find the right Original Equipment spare part replacement number for Ford. Another alternative is to programme a universal sensor. A TPMS programming tool such as the VT36, VT46 and the VT56 allows to programme over 10 brands of universal sensors. See this video about programming a TPMS sensor.

THE IMPORTANCE OF OBD RELEARN FOR FORD VEHICLES

The manual relearn procedure for Ford vehicles takes several long and complicated steps to relearn the TPMS system. Thanks to ATEQ’s “Sync-ID” technology available on ATEQ’s VT56 for example, technicians do not need to perform a Manual relearn procedure on Ford vehicles. Instead they only need to perform one unique OBD relearn procedure. Technicians love this feature, since they can skip the long and complicated stationary (manual) relearn procedure steps for Ford vehicles, and in just a few steps, use the OBD relearn procedure to reset the TPMS system in less than 2 minutes with a non-intrusive technology, using OE-compliant standards.
At 90%, ATEQ has the largest percentage of OBD relearn protocols in their TPMS tools than any other TPMS tool company. Watch our Youtube video on OBD relearn.

HOW TO PERFORM A STATIONARY RELEARN PROCEDURE ON A FORD VEHICLE?

A stationary (sometimes called manual) relearn procedure allows new TPMS sensor IDs to be transferred to the vehicle’s ECU without driving a vehicle. This type of relearn procedure requires a TPMS activation tool to trigger the sensors when the vehicle is in learn mode either by using a TPMS diagnostic tool or diagnostic scan tool. The vehicle then uses an RF signal to communicate with the vehicle’s ECU to establish which sensor is in which specific location. The VT56 TPMS tool displays the step-by-step information on how to communicate the TPMS sensor information to the vehicle’s ECU. Once the steps are performed with the VT56, the ECU will recognize the sensor ID’s. Note: the ATEQ VT56 comes with OBDII procedure which replaces the Ford Manual Relearn procedure. See video how to perform a manual relearn procedure.
