To kick off the Marketing Monday series, we introduce Grant Barnes, Marketing Assistant at ATEQ TPMS Tools. Grant holds responsibility for OE, Aftermarket and Industrial TPMS marketing in the Americas region. He specializes in multimedia and graphic design, working closely with other members of the ATEQ marketing team, including Heidi Franklin and Sheila Stevens.

In 2016, Grant graduated with a Bachelor of Media and Information from Michigan State University.  In college, he worked as a videographer, where he filmed a reality show and music videos. After graduating and moving back to his hometown of Novi, Michigan, he worked for a local production company where he filmed and edited videos. He was also part of the team who designed and built the William V. Banks WGPR Museum in Downtown Detroit.

“My passion for videography and creative design began in late high school and flourished in college. However, I was interested in a lot more than videography, and decided to seek a career where I’d be able to display my other talents in graphic design and product graphic editing,” commented Grant. “ATEQ allows the marketing team to show off our different talents and creativity, which is something I appreciate. It’s amazing to have seasoned professionals within the company ask us to help with projects, ask our opinion, and allow us to be part of the design process.”

In Grant’s current position, he collaborates with ATEQ team members throughout the world. In 2017, he attended the SEMA show for the first time, and the last day of the show,  he was promoted from intern to Marketing Assistant. His quick-producing video and graphic talent and creativity have continued to impress the ATEQ team and ATEQ’s partners worldwide.

“What I enjoy about my current position the most is the coworkers we work,” commented Grant. “It’s amazing how much goes into running a successful business. Everything is done by just a small, dedicated team within the company. I realized it doesn’t always take a village, just a very dedicated group of people that care a lot about their jobs. Just seeing how dedicated everyone is for this company made me realize very quickly how great of a company ATEQ is, and I am very proud to be part of the team.”

Other fun facts about Grant:

• When he’s not at work, he’s an avid video-gamer, even participating in competitions with his brother, Carter a few times a year.  
• He believes the word “goofy” best sums up his personality.
• His childhood hero is his mother, Tina. “She has always allowed me to be the person I am, and doesn’t judge others. She has continued to show me how to be treated and treat others, and I am very grateful to be raised by someone who thinks and believes like I do.”
