TPMS diagnostic information – Honda HR-V 2016-2018
After the TREAD Act was mandated in 2007, all vehicles manufactured in the United States beginning in 2008, must be installed with direct or indirect TPMS systems.
The Honda HRV uses an indirect TPMS system, which means no TPMS sensors are installed in the wheel. With the indirect system, low tire pressure is communicated through the ABS system. If one or more tires indicate low tire pressure, an indicator light will show on the dash.
When a tire is inflated, rotated or changed in one or more tires of a Honda HR-V, the system will need to be recalibrated, also called an indirect TPMS relearn.

Indirect relearn procedure
The vehicle’s owners manual should have the indirect TPMS system procedure or an advanced TPMS scan tool should have the relearn procedure written in the tool, such as the ATEQ VT56 and VT55
The informational display will have a TPMS button on the lower left side of the steering column. (If there is no TPMS button, use the multi-informational display to recalibrate the indirect TPMS system.)
